Vice President of Data Operations (Advertising, Marketing, or Digital Media)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Vice President of Data Operations to lead and scale data infrastructure, governance, and analytics across a rapidly growing agency. This leadership role ensures the integrity, availability, and usability of data across all media platforms, driving data-driven strategy and client success.
The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, operational excellence, and strategic vision, with experience in advertising, marketing, or digital media environments.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and evolve the agency’s data architecture, warehousing, and ETL/ELT operations.
Oversee data governance, compliance (GDPR, CCPA), and quality assurance processes.
Direct ad operations strategy, including trafficking, tagging, ad serving, and pixel management.
Partner with strategy, media, and analytics teams to align data delivery with business goals.
Manage cross-functional teams of data engineers, analysts, and operations staff.
Oversee vendor relationships and integrations (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Salesforce, Datorama, Power BI).
Streamline reporting workflows and ensure consistency across dashboards and analytics.
Develop systems that support real-time insights and campaign performance analysis.
Establish and monitor KPIs for data pipelines and team productivity.
Drive strategic initiatives in AI integration, data automation, media mix, and attribution modeling.
Job requirements
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in data operations, preferably within advertising, marketing, or digital media.
Proven leadership managing data teams and enterprise-scale data ecosystems.
Expertise in SQL, Python, dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, and modern data stacks.
Deep understanding of data privacy, compliance, and governance frameworks.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and CDP or identity resolution tools.
Strong project management and communication skills.
Prior agency or consulting experience preferred.
Client-facing and pitch presentation experience strongly preferred.
