Secondary: RH JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) | Advanced |

Additional: RH JBoss Web Server (JWS) | Experienced |


Job requirements

Phase: Engagement Readiness (Technical Oversight)
Providing technical oversight which may include:

  • Implementing a technical prerequisites checklist for you to complete

  • Validating the technical prerequisites have been completed

  • Determining environment readiness for engagement

Facilitating workshops and/or discussions for: Answering technical questions prior to the engagement in order to better prepare your personnel for the impending engagement

Phase: Design (JBoss EAP Review/Documenting)
Reviewing, revising, and documenting:

  • Current deployment topology and environment configuration

  • Current plans for upgrade to Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 8.x

  • Overall high-level security posture and configuration

  • Business continuity plan (i.e., backup, restore, and redeploy procedures)

  • Application Deployment and environment promotion strategy and give any recommendations for improvements

  • Review and discuss patching and upgrade procedures

  • Review deprecated and unsupported features when upgrading and discuss plan for alternative solution

 

Phase: JUMP (EAP Operationalization)
Using automation for:

  • Build and run automation scripts/files to perform Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 8.x installation in a non-production environment

  • Migrate server configuration (e.g., Logging, Web Server, JGroups, EJB, Messaging, JMX Management, and DataSource Changes)

Providing technical oversight which may include: Validate server configuration migration using manual testing

Phase: JUMP (Application Migration)
Providing technical oversight which may include:

  • Run Red Hat Migration Toolkit for Runtimes (RHMTR) on up to 17 deployment artifacts and collect reports

  • Review existing unit tests/test coverage for application, to set a baseline so test coverage does not decrease post-migration

  • If needed assist with unit tests to achieve pre-migration test coverage levels
