Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer with a strong background in SQL and data warehousing for enterprise-level systems. The ideal candidate will have strong Power BI expertise, particularly in developing dashboards and reporting solutions. This role involves designing and developing reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc queries while collaborating closely with business stakeholders.


Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Interview Process: In-person interview is mandatory in NYC.

Note: Only W2 candidates will be considered. C2C is allowed only if the candidate is a US Citizen or Green Card holder with their own corporation.

Domain Requirement: Candidates should have strong experience in Investment Banking, Credit Risk, or Capital Markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc queries.

  • Collaborate with business users to understand reporting and analytics requirements.

  • Perform data modeling using Power Query and Power Pivot.

  • Develop and optimize DAX queries.

  • Create Paginated Reports using Power BI Report Builder.

  • Work with SQL Server or other relational databases to query and manage data.

Job requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in data warehousing, business intelligence, analytics, and reporting systems.

  • 3+ years of experience in relational and multi-dimensional (OLAP) data modeling.

  • Strong experience with Power BI, including dashboards and reporting solutions.

  • Expertise in Power Query, Power Pivot, and DAX.

  • Experience with Power BI Report Builder and Paginated Reports.

  • Strong SQL skills, especially with SQL Server or similar relational databases, including query optimization.

  • Experience working with Databricks.

  • Experience working in the financial services domain, specifically in Fixed Income, Equity, or Derivatives.

  • Ability to gather requirements, provide recommendations, and deliver effective reporting solutions.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience managing end-to-end project lifecycle from design to deployment.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environments.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Knowledge of Power BI Dataflows.

  • Experience with PBRS (Power BI Report Server).

  • Familiarity with PowerOn.

  • Experience working with Snowflake Data Warehouse.
