Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Senior Electrical Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineer.

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with industrial utilities design.

  • Active PE registration (NC, GA preferred).

  • Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and SKM software is desired.

  • Ability to function as a project electrical lead, interfacing with other engineers, designers, construction professionals, and clients to supervise and coordinate the development of design deliverables.

  • Experience with producing construction drawings for power distribution systems, UPS and emergency power generation, data and telecommunication systems, and lighting is required

Responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Engineer:

  • Professional Electrical Engineer to lead design efforts for power, lighting, and communications systems for technical design projects.

  • Experience with producing construction drawings for power distribution systems, UPS and emergency power generation, data and telecommunication systems, and lighting is required. Ability to work closely with clients and other engineering disciplines is essential.

  • Develop comprehensive electrical designs, including power distribution systems, emergency power generation, UPS systems, lighting, and communication systems.

  • Prepare high-quality construction drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

  • Conduct system analyses and calculations, including load analysis, short circuit studies, and coordination studies.

  • Serve as the electrical engineering lead on projects, overseeing deliverables and ensuring timely completion within scope and budget.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, mechanical, and civil engineers, to achieve integrated project solutions.

  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and providing innovative solutions.

  • Represent the firm at client and project meetings, ensuring alignment with project goals.

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of project proposals and progress updates.

  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, including responding to RFIs (Requests for Information) and reviewing submittals.

  • Conduct site visits to verify design implementation and resolve any on-site issues.

  • Stay informed of industry trends and advancements to drive innovation within the electrical engineering discipline.

  • Ability to work closely with clients and other engineering disciplines is essential.

Job requirements

Requirements of the Senior Electrical Engineer:

  • Requires a BSEE and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with industrial utilities design, and active PE registration (PA preferred).

  • Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and SKM software is desired.

  • Candidates must have the ability to function as a project electrical lead, interfacing with other engineers, designers, construction professionals, and clients to supervise and coordinate the development of design deliverables.

  • Must effectively assume a lead role at project meetings and communicate project and technical information internally and externally.

  • Utilize design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and SKM Power Tools to deliver efficient and accurate designs.

  • Ensure proper integration of design data across various software platforms to maintain consistency and quality.

  • Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and national codes, including NFPA, NEC, and other relevant standards.

  • Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals for project designs.

  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.

  • Actively contributes to the professional development of the engineering team through training, feedback, and shared learning.

  • May require occasional overnight travel to client locations based on project

  • Performance of the job has the Senior Electrical Engineer operating from an office location vs a project location so to oversee one or more projects at one time.

  • Senior Electrical Engineer will be subject to job-site conditions and therefore should be able to cope with and withstand these conditions.
