Location: Remote (Must reside in one of the following states: MI, OH, IN, IL, WI, KY)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our digital eCommerce team. The ideal candidate will drive automation excellence, coordinate testing across multiple teams, and serve as a quality champion while developing and maintaining end-to-end automation frameworks.

This role involves close collaboration with developers, product owners, and scrum masters to integrate test automation in parallel with code development.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality & Automation Strategy:

  • Coach developers and product owners on automation best practices.

  • Mentor developers through pair programming on automation techniques.

  • Identify automation gaps and develop tools to bridge them.

  • Assist teams in creating and validating acceptance criteria.

End-to-End Testing:

  • Collaborate with multiple teams to ensure clear acceptance criteria.

  • Develop test plans for multi-team initiatives.

  • Create automated tests for React Native apps and CMS-driven content.

  • Perform exploratory and usability testing across platforms.

  • Approve production readiness and release validation.

Automation Framework Management:

  • Enhance shared automation libraries and CI/CD integration.

  • Implement dynamic test data generation, API mocking, and CMS validation.

  • Maintain consistent and reusable testing frameworks.

Job requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in software development and 5+ years in test automation.

  • Strong hands-on experience with React Native development and testing.

  • Experience with Payload CMS, Contentful, or similar headless CMS platforms.

  • Expertise in Playwright, Detox, or Maestro automation tools.

  • Proficiency in TypeScript, Swift, Kotlin, Java, C#, or Python.

  • Familiarity with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Agile or SAFe experience preferred.

  • Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
