Job Description: Quality Engineer III

Hudson Manpower's Information Technology department is seeking a Quality Engineer III to join our team. As a Quality Engineer III, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our software products through testing and analysis. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues, as well as develop and implement quality assurance processes.

You will be both a leader and a hands-on contributor—designing testing strategies, mentoring junior engineers, and building scalable automation frameworks that integrate seamlessly with modern DevOps practices.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Strategy & Leadership: Define and implement shift-left testing strategies, preventive QA approaches, and automation-first practices across teams.

  • Test Automation: Build and maintain test automation frameworks leveraging Karate, Selenium, BDD, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • API & Integration Testing: Lead deep API testing, service virtualization, and cloud-native test environments to validate mission-critical systems.

  • Performance & Scalability: Conduct performance testing using JMeter and other tools to ensure retail applications perform reliably under high load.

  • Collaboration: Partner with Account Managers, Product Owners, and cross-functional teams to align testing efforts with business goals.

  • Data & Risk Management: Design robust test data management strategies, ensure data integrity, and use predictive models to forecast risks.

  • Mentorship & Culture: Mentor QA engineers, promote quality-first thinking, and embed continuous improvement into team culture.

Required Skills

  • 6+ years of hands-on Quality Engineering experience, with proven leadership across multiple teams.

  • Proficiency in Karate, Selenium, and REST API testing.

  • Strong background in performance testing (JMeter or similar).

  • Experience with BDD frameworks, test automation, and CI/CD pipeline integration.

  • Familiarity with service virtualization and cloud testing environments.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate testing insights into business impact.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the retail or grocery industry.

  • Exposure to POS systems, pickup order platforms, or large-scale transaction systems.

  • Familiarity with cloud-native observability tools (Azure Monitor, Datadog, or Splunk).
