Full-Time: 12-hour shifts, Days

Specialty: Med Surg

Available Shifts:

  • Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, with rotating weekends)

  • Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with rotating weekends)

Job Requirements:

  • Medical laboratory experience preferred. Must have a Florida State license in hand or applied for one. Training may be provided based on previous experience.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Associate’s Degree or higher preferred.

  • MLT, ASCP, CPT, or AMT certification required.

  • Florida State Medical Laboratory Technician License.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and immunology.

  • Report test results following clinic protocols, alerting providers and/or nurses about abnormal results.

  • Ensure quality control in collecting specimens, proper sampling, and maintain accurate record-keeping.

  • Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies. Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and test sterility of medical laboratory equipment.

Additional Information:

  • Reports To: Laboratory Manager and Supervisor

  • Open Duration: Positions have been open for 9+ months.

  • Candidate Qualities: Candidates should have a strong foundation in laboratory practices. Even new graduates who have completed clinicals or worked as a lab assistant/complex specimen processor are considered.

Job requirements

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred)

  • Experience: Medical laboratory experience preferred; new graduates with clinical/lab assistant experience considered

  • Skills Required:

    1. MLT, ASCP, CPT, or AMT certification

    2. Florida State Medical Laboratory Technician License (or in-process)

    3. Ability to perform technical lab functions in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and immunology

    4. Competence in maintaining lab equipment and following quality control procedures
