POSITION: Mechanical Technician

DEPARTMENT: TS – MSS

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Work Visa

DUTY HOURS: 08 Hours per Day | 6 Days per Week

LOCATION: As per Project / Site Requirement

SALARY: SAR 3,000 + FAT (Food, Accommodation, Transportation)

JOB SUMMARY

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems. The role ensures the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant operations by strictly adhering to SABIC standards, engineering specifications, and HSE policies.

Job requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform comprehensive maintenance, inspection, and repair of pumps, compressors, valves, turbines, conveyors, and other rotating or static mechanical equipment.

  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance tasks strictly as per established maintenance schedules.

  • Support major plant activities including shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency maintenance when required.

2.Troubleshooting & Technical Execution

  • Troubleshoot mechanical faults and provide effective, lasting solutions to minimize plant downtime.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals to guide repair work.

  • Carry out precise installation, alignment, and assembly of mechanical components according to SABIC standards.

3.Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all SABIC HSE procedures, including Permit-to-Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and mandatory use of PPE.

  • Commit to safe work practices, continuous risk assessment, and immediate hazard reporting.

  • Maintain high standards of workshop and site housekeeping to ensure a safe work environment.

4.Documentation & Coordination

  • Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records, reports, and technical logs.

  • Coordinate effectively with engineers, supervisors, and other maintenance disciplines to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.

  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor in demanding industrial environments.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
