Contract Duration: 2 months
Job Summary We are looking a experienced Material Coordinator to manage and control all materials, tools, and equipment required for the upcoming shutdown/turnaround. The Coordinator will ensure timely availability, tracking, allocation, and documentation of all shutdown materials in alignment with SABIC procedures. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong coordination with maintenance, planning, procurement, and warehouse teams.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of materials, tools, and equipment required for shutdown activities.
Ensure all materials comply with SABIC specifications, certificates, and approved vendor documentaion.
Monitor material availability and highlight shortages or delays to the planning and execution teams.
Prepare and maintain material tracking sheets, MR (Material Request), and daily inventory updates.
Manage material staging areas and ensure materials are delivered to job sites on time.
Verify material descriptions, part numbers, quantity, and ensure full traceability.
Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, and logistics teams for timely material flow.
Assist in the preparation of BOM (Bill of Materials) and ensure alignment with work orders.
Track consumables, spare parts, and tools issued to technicians and ensure proper return and accountability.
Support shutdown planners in forecasting material needs and checking readiness before job execution.
Ensure proper storage conditions for sensitive materials such as instruments, electrical items, and lubricants.
Maintain detailed records for audits, material reconciliation, and final shutdown documentation.
Enforce SABIC safety policies and ensure safe handling and movement of materials.
Job requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, or relevant technical field.
Experience:
Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Material Coordinator in petrochemical, oil & gas, or industrial shutdown projects.
Prior experience working in SABIC shutdowns is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation materials.
Preferred Certifications: SABIC/Aramco Work Permit Holder , Supply Chain or Material Management Training , SAP/MM or similar ERP system experience.
