The Skilled Worker – Plano Miller is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machine tools to manufacture high-precision products from casting and forging materials. This role requires interpreting technical drawings, operating heavy-duty CNC machines, ensuring dimensional accuracy, and upholding quality and safety standards throughout the machining process.

  • Operate CNC machines to perform a wide range of machining tasks.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications.

  • Prepare and load workpieces and set up machines accordingly.

  • Conduct test runs to verify accuracy before full production.

  • Set machines for complete production cycles to manufacture multiple parts.

  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments for optimum results.

  • Inspect and measure finished products to ensure compliance with requirements.

  • Perform routine checks, daily maintenance, and preventive upkeep of machines.

  • Review machining manufacturing drawings and technical specifications.

  • Install and skillfully use various machine attachments.

  • Interpret, create, and edit CNC programs (G & M codes, MDI).

  • Train junior or new operators on CNC machine operation and safety practices.

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and high-quality work environment.

Job requirements

  1. High school diploma or higher qualification.

  2. Minimum 7 years’ experience operating CNC machine tools (Plano Miller).

  3. Hands-on experience with CNC controllers (FANUC, Siemens, etc.).

  4. Proven experience with 2-axis, 3-axis, and 5-axis CNC machine tools.

  5. Skilled in operating heavy-duty machine tools.

  6. Proficient in tooling, measuring instruments, and general machining principles.

  7. Ability to interpret and review technical drawings & specifications.

  8. Strong knowledge of CNC programming (manual data input – G & M codes).

  9. Experience using gauges and measuring tools for general and precision tolerances.

  10. Ability to work independently and take initiative.

  11. Experience in preventive maintenance and consumable replacement on CNC machines.

  12. Previous experience in oil & gas component machining (preferred but not essential).
