ELECTRICAL ENGINEER(PROTECTION) | OMAN

Role & Responsibilities:

Candidate must have experience in Protection Electrical Projects.

• To assume responsibility for electrical (Power systems & HV/LV substations & OHLs) design activities for oil, gas and water handling/movement projects from concept and front end studies to detailed design and as-building, as a Lead Engineer.

• To prepare system studies, EPC scopes, Specifications, Material lists SLDs

• Focal point responsibility for integrity and quality of the specified discipline equipment and systems.

• To assist in coordinating the Electrical engineering and drafting activities so as to ensure efficient and economical design solutions whilst maintaining the delivery schedule.

• To lead a dedicated Electrical engineering design team, (Senior Engineers)

• To assist in the development of less experienced Electrical personnel, (Senior Engineers).

• To prepare requisitions for, and technical evaluations of, discipline material and equipment.

• To ensure equipment vendors provide high quality product for front end and detailed design packages and within the specified time frame.

• To ensure design packages comply with Client specifications and codes, safety, environmental, ergonomic and quality standards.

• To monitor construction, testing and commissioning work executed by construction contractors.

• To attend FAT where required.

• To manage interfaces with other disciplines.

• To identify potential applications for new technologies.

Qualifications:

• Degree holder (BSc Hons minimum in Electrical Engineering) and professional membership of recognized international Institute.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements:

• Senior engineers must have a minimum of 10 years engineering experience in having developed a recognized career path in upstream oil and gas design, of which a minimum of 4 years held in upstream oil and gas facilities (including 2 years SHELL Group experience would be preferred).

• Engineers to have a minimum of 8 years experience in upstream oil and gas facilities.

• Extensive experience in front end and detailed design.

• Must be fluent in written and spoken English with good technical skills applied to producing reports, consequently must be computer literate in use of MS Office applications and Lotus Notes.

• Must have experience of working within an ISO 9001 QA environment.
