Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for Level 2 incidents involving Java Spring and Ruby on Rails web services.

  • Conduct detailed root cause analysis (RCA) and partner with development teams to deploy long-term resolutions.

  • Manage application monitoring, event management, and alert optimization using Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, and other APM tools.

  • Support REST APIs, AWS Aurora databases, and containerized microservices (ECS, Fargate).

  • Proactively monitor production health metrics, automate recovery scripts, and implement preventive measures.

  • Collaborate with DevOps to enhance CI/CD deployment pipelines and infrastructure resilience.

  • Maintain and enhance documentation, playbooks, and runbooks for support consistency.

  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, prioritizing swift restoration of critical payment services.

  • Mentor junior engineers and offshore support staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years in Application Support, Site Reliability, or DevOps environments.

  • Strong proficiency in AWS Cloud (Aurora, Lambda, CloudWatch, MQ, CloudTrail).

  • Demonstrated expertise in Java Spring Boot, Ruby on Rails, and REST API troubleshooting.

  • Strong SQL and query optimization experience (PostgreSQL preferred).

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Scout.

  • Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, ECS, Fargate) and CI/CD practices.

  • Strong understanding of banking/financial transaction systems, compliance, and operational risk.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally under pressure.
